wHERE DO I GET AN INSTRUMENT/What instrument do I get my child?

Music stores are always the best option to get quality instruments for your students, but we understand that isn't always an option for everyone! The best rule of thumb when buying an instrument is to never buy an instrument online, especially on amazon. Even though those instruments are very affordable, they are not made well and when they do break or need repairs, repair shops are not able to fix them because they do not have the parts for them. Below are trustworthy brands and music stores for you to purchase their instruments!

We will be hosting an Instrument Rental Night with Music and Arts on August 20th from 5pm-6:30pm at Ferris Junior High. There you will be able to rent your instrument and have it delivered to the school. You get to talk personally to our Music and Arts representative and they can help you through the process of renting an instrument. If you cannot make it that night, you can still rent an instrument on their website (musicarts.com), just search for Ferris Junior High in the Rental Tab and make sure to select "Ship to School". 
  • If you play French Horn, Euphonium, or Tuba an instrument will be provided for you, but you will need to get the supplies, like a mouthpiece and any materials to take care of your instrument.

2024 Popcorn fundraiser

  • Begins on - September 19th, 2024
  • Ends on -  September 30th, 2024
  • Raises money for - Students band fees, music, reeds, and supplies for the year!
  • Goal - For all students to sell at least 5 bags of popcorn / 5 other items!
  • If you sell 10 bags of popcorn you can pay off your band fees!
  • 7th/8th graders- if you sell 17 bags of popcorn you pay off both band fees AND medieval times!

Medieval Times

  • November 14th during school!
  • Available for 7th and 8th graders ONLY!
  • This is an optional trip!
  • Cost is $40 on top of band fees
  • Must pass Q1 to attend this trip!
  • Come see Knights joust and fight, while learning about chivalry, and eating with your hands!

Epic Waters Music festival

  • 6th grade on May 6th, 2025
  • 7th & 8th grade on May 2nd, 2025
  • Must pass Q3 to go on this trip!
  • Cost of trip is included in band fees
  • This is an optional trip, but highly encouraged because you will get the opportunity to perform for a judge!
